The currency of Vietnam is Vietnamese dong. Although US
dollar is widely accepted in tourist area along Vietnam but VND is preferred
while traveling in our country especially when you pay for your taxi, buy a cup
of coffee, a bottle of water, or small value of a souvenir in the shop.
There are different notes of VND valued from 1,000 – 2,000 –
5,000 – 10,000 – 20,000 – 50,000 – 100,000 – 200,000 to 500,000 dong.
At the moment of writing, 2017, the exchange rate between VND/USD
= 22,500/1USD.
You can withdraw VND by your credit card of Visa or Master
from ATM that widely set in cities and tourist sites. |
