DAY
1 : Arrivals – Vientiane (-/-/D)
On arrival at
the airport, you will be met and transferred to your centrally located hotel.
Vientiane is a charming and fascinating capital, with an interesting mix of
Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, and American influences. After a short
rest, we start visiting the major sights of the capital; including the Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple with
thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald
Buddha Image. Enroute to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and
sacred structure of That Luang Stupa,
you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Park, which is well known as
Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. We
end the day by taking a walk at the Mekong
riverside street. Return to the hotel and you are free at your own leisure. Overnight in Vientiane.
DAY 2 :
Vientiane Capital – Vangvieng (B/-/D)
We leave this wonderful town
early for our journey northbound; This countryside road towards the mountainous
region we will see some scenic view on the way. We are reaching Vangvieng in late after noon. Vangvieng
is the small and tranquil town, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River. Its stunning scenery
with a mixture of quiet water and limestone outcrops remains unspoiled, despite
recent developments with the adventure of tourism. We check-in at your hotel.
After short rest, We will start drive to PhouKham
cave, climb up to this charming cave before spending your time at the Blue Lagoon, then return to your hotel.
Free time at your own leisure.
Optional: Going for a walk on your own
to catch the first glimpse of this scenic and peaceful hill town. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 3 : Vangvieng – Xieng Khouang(Plain of Jars) – (B/-/D)
After breakfast at your hotel, we bid farewell to this
dream-like town and drive to Xieng Khouang.
An area once devastated by American bombings between 1964 and 1973. These back
roads are a great way to explore the real Laos. We see very few other
travellers, mostly rural dwellers who are just as interested in finding out
about our lives as we are of theirs. The drive is approximately 7 hours, but we
can make many stops at our pleasure, to stretch our legs and take some
wonderful photographs. Arrive Phonsavanh in late afternoon, which is the
perfect time to visit the “Plain of Jars”
is an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are
scattered all over a plateau. These huge jars are supposedly over 2,000 years
old, but most of archaeologists still question their purpose. We have time
today to explore the site 1 only. Overnight at Hotel in
Phonsavanh.
DAY 4 : Xieng Khouang – Luang Prabang (B/-/D)
After breakfast, we depart early
for our journey by road to Luang
Prabang. The road conditions are poor at some places; however the stunning
mountain scenery makes it worthwhile. On the way we will make some stops at the
tribal villages such as ; Khmu and Hmong
ethnic minority. We arrive in Luang Prabang late afternoon and have time to
stroll around to catch our first glimpse of the sleepy town. This enchanting
town with its gleaming temple roofs, fading colonial architecture and stunning
mountain backdrop has been claimed by UNESCO to be “the best preserved
traditional city in South East Asia”. There is little traffic on Luang
Prabang’s roads and you will see monks dressed in orange robes scurry in all
directions carrying umbrellas shading themselves from the Sun. Upon arrival we
check- in at your hotel and have a refreshment, before we start our sightseeing
with a visit to the magnificent Wat
Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents
classical Laotian architecture climbing up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded
stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a
lovely selection of handmade textile made by local and hill tribe people in the

Prabang., you will have free time at your own leisure. Overnight at Hotel in
Luangprabang.
DAY 5 : Luangprabang – PakOu cave – Kouangsi falls (B/-/D)
Today, An optional early start gives you the fantastic
opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks
collecting offerings of Alms
(ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very
unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession.
From there you will visit the fresh
Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin,
local tea and salt pepper among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe
weavings. Return to hotel for your breakfast.
We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River,
which gives us the opportunity to see the tranquil countryside as well as explore the holy Pak Ou Caves, two
linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by
pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the
village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine. On return, we
disembark traditional villages, visiting Ban Xangkong, the villages of handmade
jute paper making and continue taking a drive to the journey to Khouangsi waterfall which is about 30
Km south of Luangprabang by van, We will stop at Ban NaOuan, Hmong ethnic village, Perhaps, the picture opportunity
of the terraced rice paddy fields during rainy season and of course to see the
local life style. Arrive at the waterfall. Enjoy
the beautiful scenery, swimming or relaxing nearby the clear pools of the
terraced limestone formations. Walk through the forest and get to chance to say
hello to the rescued black bears playing with their toys in their
sanctuary. Return to Luangprabang and free time at your own leisure, Overnight at Hotel in Luangprabang.
DAY 6 : Luangprabang – Departure (B/-/-)
The visit to Luangprabang will not be completed without a
visit to the National museum or the former royal palace, which displays a
lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture
dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign.
Return to your hotel, you are then free until transfer to the airport for your
onward flight.
