Hanoi – Mai Chau – Cuc Phuong – Van Long – Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau

At 8:00, leave for Mai Chau via Hoa Binh town. Take photos on the scenic driving. Reach Mai Chau at around noon. Have lunch in Lac Village prepared by your host. Short walk around the Thai village in the afternoon. Dinner and sleep on stilt house. Enjoy the folk dance with local rice wine after dinner. (-/L/D)

Day 2: Mai Chau – Cuc Phuong
After breakfast, take a short walk through rice field to the local market then go back to Lac village for lunch. Afternoon drive to Cuc Phuong National Park in Ninh Binh province. Check-in the guesthouse. Overnight in Cuc Phuong. (B/L/D)

Day 3: Cuc Phuong – Trekking – Ninh Binh

In the morning drive to Bong trekking point where we will trek through the forest for bird watching and visit 1,000 years old tree. Walk back, stop to visit a cave once inhabited by pre-historic peoples dated back to 7000 years, and then visit the Endangered Primate Center where rare animals listed in Red books protected. Drive to Ninh Binh, stopping en route at Hoa Lu to visit 2 temples dedicated to two ancient Vietnamese kings Dinh and Le. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 4: Ninh Binh – Van Long – Hanoi

After breakfast, take your bicycles at Van Long and bike through country lanes to Van Long boat wharf. Take a boat ride rowed by local people along the waterway of Van Long natural conservation area where is praised as Halong Bay inland. Lunch in the local restaurant. Drive back to Hanoi.
